Gold Mountain Golf Club is a sight to behold, nestled amidst a verdant forest. It’s not just a wedding venue; it’s a haven where nature intertwines with romance to create unforgettable moments.
From the moment I arrived at Gold Mountain Golf Club, it felt like stepping into an entirely different world. The first thing I drove through was a forest of trees, almost like a tunnel with no ceiling. The fences next to the road had moss lining it, setting the scene of a fairytale. I could already picture the photographs I would take of couples here. When I exited that “tunnel” to park, I couldn’t help but feel awe as the world opened up to gorgeous mountain scenery with ponds here and there that added even more to the beauty.
Cheryl guided me on the tour. The entire time she was talking, her voice was full of enthusiasm and passion. It was so easy to tell that she absolutely loves what she does. When she took me to the indoor section, just one of the places you can have your ceremony and reception, she told me how the lights that were hanging on the ceiling are something she replaced herself over the years, and when we stepped outside, she told me she’d done the same with the light out there so that they matched.
For brides and grooms alike, this venue provides thoughtfully designed getting ready spaces. The bride’s suite is bathed in natural light, complete with plush seating and three floor-length mirrors for those final touches before walking down the aisle. Meanwhile, the newly added groom’s space offers a private retreat for the guys to relax and prepare for the big day.
Cheryl and her team go above and beyond to accommodate your vision, ensuring every detail is perfect. She told me how they know the best spots to take photographs at the venue and how you can even bring your own decorations. This includes candles as long as they’re in their own vessels. They even have 4-seater golf carts that you can rent during your time there!
Gold Mountain Golf Club includes a section in the woods to hold their outdoor weddings, called “A Wedding in the Woods”. When Cheryl took me there, it felt like a dream. An open space surrounded by very tall trees, with tree stumps creating the aisle. I could easily visualize it, rows of chairs, candles in their unique vessels on each stump, with the lights they already have hanging behind where the bride and groom would stand. The feeling of magic surrounded by family and friends.
In the end, Gold Mountain Golf Club isn’t just a venue—it’s a storybook setting where love comes to life amidst the beauty of nature. Not only that, but Cheryl’s passion for her work shines through in every aspect, making it a truly unforgettable place to say “I do.” As a wedding photographer, I cannot wait to capture the magic of each moment spent there.
