When I first arrived at Falling Water Gardens, I drove around back for parking to this big open field with an amazing view that stretched for miles. When I headed through the gates of the venue, I felt like I was in the Secret Garden. There were paths between trees, with bushes and flowers along the path giving extra color to the surrounding green. It felt very otherworldly.
Shortly after, I met up with Liz, who took me through the tour. She took me first through the Nursery part of the venue. Statues of all sorts were everywhere (which included a Dragon, and Bigfoot!), while show tunes played in the background. The atmosphere was lively and I felt a touch of magic in the air. Liz showed me the Aviary, full of chickens, pigeons, turkeys, and even some peacocks.
The further we walked in I could see the transformation from Nursery to Wedding Venue. She brought me to their lake which had Koi Fish in it. She told me as we approached that the fish would come towards us and open their mouths for food, which they absolutely did the second we got closer! There was even a smaller pond with them in it that had a little machine where you could pay 25 cents to feed them.
Liz told me how when you have a wedding here, you also have access to the Nursery. It’s absolutely perfect for keeping guests occupied if they show up a little early. There was even a little play area for kids. Not only that, but there were some extremely photographic things in the nursery between their water fixtures everywhere that does justice to their name, the little lake with Koi mentioned above, and what reminded me of a mini stonehenge.
As we fully walked into the wedding side of things, I couldn’t help but feel amazed. Looking around at the big grass field surrounded by lines of trees with stone steps along them, I couldn’t help but feel excited. Lights hung across, which as a photographer, I love every single time. There was also a big arbor so this area could be transformed into a ceremony area. I could almost feel the celebrations that had happened here already.
Just past the arbor was another area to have a ceremony that opened up to lots of seating, which created lots of versatility and options for bringing your vision to life. Liz then took me to another one of the places to have a ceremony here. The area was open and round and had the flat design of a labyrinth. It felt majestic to be standing in the area. It was easy to appreciate the unique look, which also contained a water feature in the middle.
When Liz took me to the reception area, I was unprepared for what I was about to see. It seemed so hidden, with a line of trees where we walked through a gap to get to. It was absolutely phenomenal. I felt like we were in Wonderland, off to have tea with Alice, while also feeling Bridgerton vibes all at the same time.
Along the edges were little sections of things like tables and firepits separated by gardens.
To our right was a gigantic chess board! The pieces went up to about my knee, and they even had little checker pieces to use as an option.
The reception tent was gorgeous, with two chandeliers hanging from the top, decorated with leaves. More leaves went across the top as well, keeping the garden vibes alive.
If you stick around long enough, you’ll likely meet the goats and two alpacas that hangout behind the fence behind the parking lot, or their Anatolian Shepherd who guards the other animals, and is of course quite friendly.
Liz then took me to the getting ready areas to rent. I was amazed to find out it included Glamping, with two fully furnished tents to sleep in. Outside the tents were very cozy looking chairs, and out back of the tents were chairs and tables with an amazing view to relax your nerves.
The brides getting ready tent felt classy, comfortable, and contained a full body mirror, while the men’s tent felt like a place where the boys would definitely enjoy hanging out at while waiting.
It truly is hard to describe all the beauty and personality of this venue in words. However Liz did a fantastic job of it on our tour. She is the in-house coordinator, and while she just started in April, I thought it was much longer. Her enthusiasm and how much she cared about the venue was very clear to see. Her knowledge and personality brought more life to the venue then there already was. With the combo of the venue, and Liz as the in-house coordinator, Falling Water Gardens can certainly make all of your wedding day dreams come true.
